The Best Places to Enjoy Some Lakeview Brews
Chicago is a craft-beer destination, and some of the best hangouts are near the Old Chicago Inn! Here are a few of our favorites.
This craft brewery is located in the center of the trendy Southport Corridor. They feature a rotating beer program with styles from intensely hopped IPAs to unique saisons and many other experimental brews. The brewery also has a chef with a menu of fresh Midwestern foods, such as sandwiches, pizza and other appetizers. Corridor Brewery & Provisions is a concept of another Lakeview brewery, DryHop Brewers.
DryHop Brewery opened its doors in the beautiful Lakeview neighborhood in 2013. Since then, it has been home to a number of one-of-a-kind local beers that take a hop-centric approach. Additionally, they have a full kitchen with menu items designed to reflect the neighborhood and their brews.
Greenstar brewing is Illinois’ first certified organic brewery, and it is located in Wrigleyville. They use 100% organic malted barley and hops to create the freshest, best beer. Along with aiming to make the best beer, greenstar brewing strives to achieve the smallest carbon footprint and is committed to an all-green brewing approach.
Looking for some beer and BBQ? Sheffield’s Beer and Wine Garden might be the place to visit, and they’re within walking distance from the Old Chicago Inn. The restaurant, bar and beer garden has a delicious food menu and a wide-selection of beers to chase down the food. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy it all from their nature-enclosed beer garden.
Known for its iconic tiki drinks and Instagrammable karaoke, Trader Todd’s has a selection of craft beers that will satisfy any beer-enthusiast. Their general manager, Scott Cooley, curates a rotating list of craft options, which are available on tap, in the bottle or a can. The current patron-favorites are the Ballast Point Sculpin, Odell IPA and Oberon.
From breweries and beer gardens to tap rooms and restaurants, Lakeview has near-endless entertainment options to satisfy guests and residents. The next time you’re in Lakeview, visit the local theater scene, grab some dinner and throw back some beers. You can always end your evening with a cocktail at our own speakeasy, Room 13.
